Jean Beauregard, pilot Jean saw a hot air balloon for the first time in 1984. He then decided that one day he would fly one.
In 1985, Jean goes up for the first time in a house special shaped balloon. Immediately after, he started his pilot training.
In 1986, Jean got his hot air balloon pilot licence.
In 1987, Jean purchased his first balloon. He went to work as a pilot for Cameron Balloons Canada. He crossed Canada from coast to coast to follow the Olympic torch relay.
During 4 years, Jean flew hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes all over Canada, the United States and Europe.
In 1991, Jean gets his airplane pilot licence.
In 1992, Jean joins Transport Canada to become an air traffic controller. He is an air traffic controller at the Ottawa airport since 1994.
In 2004, Jean joins the organisation of the Gatineau hot air balloon festival as an assistant flight director. In 2005 and 2006, he was co flight director. Since 2006, he also is the main pilot of the festival’s hot air balloon.
In 2005, he went to Martin Lacasse, owner of the Gatineau Rona l'entrepôt stores to suggest a winning association. Less than a year later, the Rona l'entrepôt hot air balloon began flying in the Gatineau sky.
Brigitte Johnstone, pilot Since 1991, Brigitte flies her own balloon which is of the same size as the Rona l'entrepôt balloon.
She is always happy to fly the Rona l'entrepôt hot air balloon when Jean is not available.
Yvan Lavoie, crew Yvan is enjoying a well deserved retirement. He never hesitates to wake up early or to leave his wood working workshop to help get the Rona l'entrepôt hot air balloon airborne.
Yvan is also in charge of the launch directors and he is a crew chief for the Gatineau hot air balloon festival.
Jean Bjornson, crew This friendly geographer likes to help with the Rona l'entrepôt hot air balloon.
Anne Benoit, crew Ex-director in charge of the hot air balloon activities for the Gatineau hot air balloon festival, Anne is a passionate with a contagious passion.
Guy Benjamin, crew Guy was introduced to ballooning in Trois-Rivières at the end of the 1980s. It was a shock that lasted. He went on to train and obtain is pilot licence in 1996. However, his dedication to his family is grounding him temporarily. |
